The Right Rev. Salutaris Melchior Libena, born on 23rd
November 1963 at Mtimbira, Ulanga District, in the Diocese of Mahenge. He was
ordained Priest on 29th June 1991. On 28th January 2010
was appointed the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Dar es Salaam. On 14th
January 2012 was nominated a first bishop of the newly erected diocese of
Ifakara and was installed on the 19th March 2012.
